US Airways flight 1549 has crashed into the Hudson River, sending passengers fleeing for safety in the frigid waters.  According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane had just taken off from New York's LaGuardia Airport enroute to Charlotte, North Carolina when the crash occurred in the river near 48th Street in midtown Manhattan.
