All airlines will cease commercial flight operations in and out of Bush Intercontinental and Hobby airports in Houston on Friday at 2 p.m. local time due to Hurricane Ike.  The Houston Airport System expects IAH and HOU to remain closed until Sunday, September 14, 2008.

Both Bush and Hobby will remain open for emergency operations.  In addition to scrapping flights to and from Houston Hobby Friday and Saturday, Southwest will cease service to Corpus Christi and Valley (Harlingen, Texas) airports on those days.
