Later this year, the Northwest Airlines WorldPerks® program and the Delta Air Lines SkyMiles® program will merge into a new loyalty program using the SkyMiles name.  Two noteworthy additions tothe new SkyMiles Elite program are:

• Delta introduced a new top tier "Diamond Medallion" - for passengers accumulating 125,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs).  This means that travelers can achieve Elite status as follows: Silver Medallion at 25,000 MQMs, Gold Medallion at 50,000 MQMs, Platinum Medallion at 75,000 MQMs, and Diamond Medallion at 125,000 MQMs.
• Delta introduced "Rollover MQMs" - allows travelers to roll over any Medallion Qualification Miles above a Medallion threshold.  For example, if you earn 40,000 MQMs this year (15,000 MQMs higher than the Silver Medallion requirement, but 10,000 less than needed to reach Gold Medallion) the 15,000 MQMs will automatically roll over and count towards your next year's MQM balance.
